today on dr phil, the entire show revolved around 2 sisters and their half sister who grew up in an abusive home.
the older two girls were molested in addition to physical, verbal and emotional abuse by their step-father (their half-sister's biological father).
the youngest girl, now in her 20s, has a child of her own, whom she entrusts to the baby's grandfather - the same man who sexually abused her half sisters.
I watched about half the show and got the impression that vickie? seemed to be somewhat numbed out by her sisters accusations... Didn't seem to be able to think clearly.. I guess the Dad has got her brainwashed after a fashion .. to think is is a good Dad.
Very sad, indeed.

Family of five here,.. and having supper together every evening is a must here at our house.
No T.V.'s no radios/walkmans/mp3's..You ring the little dinner bell and everyone comes to the table.
We all enjoy our supper time meal together with lots of laughter and sharing about what went on in our childrens day.... My husband and I focus on the kids during supper unless we have something upbuilding to discuss about our own day. We save our own heavy discussions for times other than supper.
Our oldest trundled off to university this year and this is when we all miss him the most.. Supper time at the dining room table.
One thing I did change this past year is that nobody can begin eating or dish out any food until I dish out mine first and I'm seated... Then everyone else may begin. The main cook (me) goes first...
Again.. suppper time is the most looked forward time of our families day.

i think there will be some debate over the reasons for this ... is it the threat of the death penalty stoppong people committing crime or are fewer convicted because jurors feel less confident knowing that it sends someone to their death.. maybe americans are just getting more civilised?!

our son william grant was born last wednesday 2/11/05 at 20:43, weighing 9lb 2oz (4140g).
we are both really well.. it wasn't the birth experience i had hoped for - on my long list of things i didn't want to happen, the only things i avoided were induction, pethidine, episiotomy (i pushed too efficiently, no time to do it!
) and caesarean.

as you all may know, the elders around america have had (or will have) their annual meetings.
you know, the ones where they are trained and brought up to date about the whole scheme of things.. anyway, an elder who i happen to be close to was telling me yesterday that some troubling/disturbing things has been going down in congregations worldwide.
he also mentioned that it will be mentioned in watchtowers and km's in the next few months.. anyone know what he may be talking about?

some of you may remember larc and zazuwitts, who used to post here regularly.. .
i heard from zazu today that sadly larc passed away this morning.
he died peacefully in his sleep of heart failure.
My sincere condolences to you Zazu..

i am going tohave the opportunity to meet condi rice tomorrow while she is visiting ottawa.
she is arguably the most powerful/influencial woman in the world and i am excited about the meeting.. i am not a fan of her (bush's) policies but still meeting someone of this influence is not lost on me.. if you could say anything to her, what would it be?.

as many of you will know, yesterday i received my scan results from the haematologist.
when i entered his office he was beaming and so i thought the news would be good.
the chemotherapy has shrunk the cancerous lymph nodes in my stomach substantially!!
It does my heart good to hear such good news concerning you, Dansk.
